Closet tour! Before & After renovations
This feels like it's been such a long time coming!!! If you follow me on Instagram stories, you've definitely seen this renovation from start to finish over the past few months. From trips to the paint stores, to arrivals from amazon, to repurposing anything I see with potential. It's finally come together and the transformation is crazy!
When I moved into this condo with Justin, he had this room just for storage and random things that he didn't really have a place for. After a lot of convincing he finally let me transform it into something beautiful and functional. It took a few months for me to convince him that a giant closet was the best use for the space lol, but there just wasn't enough room for both of our clothes, shoes, bags, etc, in the bedroom. So naturally you need a whole room!! Hahaha I know some girls dream of this, and I can honestly say it's so worth it to make it happen.
The paint we used is Whisper White from Dulux and it is absolutely the perfect white. It's the same one we used in the bathroom and in the living room. It looks so good with natural light but also with artificial light like in this room. It's slightly cool toned and I love that about it.
The floating shelves were two separate Kijiji finds. They aren't as stable as we'd like them to be, but it's harder nailing them into the brick. The clothing rack and shelving (on sale!!) were both from Canadian Tire. They were meant to be a little bit temporary, but they're working pretty well!
The cowhide might be one of my favourite parts. I've been on the hunt for the perfect one for years. I was ready to pay about 400.00CAD for the perfect one, but we ended up finding this one on Amazon for 95.00!! I was shocked when we found one exactly like I wanted (big & mainly white with a little bit of grey) and it was so much cheaper than I expected to pay. (I found another one that is similar but smaller here).
The smaller shoe rack is a wine rack that used to be brown. We had it on Kijiji ready to sell, but then I had this idea of putting shoes on it ??? It worked! Haha. so we painted it white and it's been good for storing some of Justin's shoes.
I was on the hunt for a simple white desk for a while for a vanity. It really sucks not having a Structube or Ikea close by around here .... But then I remembered I had my old university desk in my basement. We painted it white and changed out the knobs and it's perfect! I got the knobs at Pier 1 and really liked their selection!! -They don't have an online selection unfortunately, but in store was good! Anthropologie also has good ones but they're a little more $$. (Amazing selection on their site).
I get so many questions about the hats that I wear in my photos on Instagram so I'll link these 4 here!
Black
Grey
Green
Red
I was also on a mission for a huge mirror for this room but still didn't quite hit the jackpot. We got the biggest one we could find in the city at Kent. I'll link it here. It's big enough for now, and it's what I was looking for with a simple black frame.
Justin and I both have so many pairs of sunglasses and watches. I swear the first time I was in his room and saw his collection I thought we were soulmates. Hahah no one else I know likes to collect these like I do. Still working on an organized way to store them.
If I forgot to credit something or mention something, you can definitely ask me in the comments or send me a message! It's been quite the work in progress but I'm so happy with how it's going! Keep following on Insta for more updates and changes!!
