IT’S HAPPENING! We are finally finished the shared master bathroom! I am so excited and we have been enjoying the finished product for about a week now, just putting together the final touches. If you remember from the original home tour when we moved in, the whole house had so much wood, and was just outdated. All of the rooms, bathroom included, were a great size and pretty good layout. They just needed a little refresh! Check out photo and video transformations down below.

We kept the same layout of the bathroom, but swapped out the bathtub for a walk in shower. All of the details on how we built the shower can be found in this post if you missed it! It was a bit of a controversial decision, adding a shower and leaving out a bathtub, but we haven’t regretted it one little bit. The shower feels SO amazing and the old tub hasn’t even crossed my mind. We will be adding in a tub shower combo in the downstairs bathroom. (Starting on that bathroom this month!!) We also removed the original door and replaced it with a sliding door on the outside, so it wouldn’t take up any space in the bathroom.

We worked with B&N Flooring on alllllll of our bathroom tile. We are SO happy with the turnout of both the white subway tile in the shower, the black marble bench for the shower as well as the black penny floor tile. The combination of tile has the feeling of a high end boutique hotel and that was my main inspiration when choosing finishes for this room and it is SO satisfying to see it all come together. If you are local to Saint John, or New Brunswick, you should definitely be checking out B&N Flooring for any flooring or wall tile. Their team knows so much, they have great advice and can source all kinds of options that they may not have in stock. Their showroom is located on the West Side of Saint John and their showroom alone is so full of ideas and inspiration. I can’t wait to show you what we are choosing for tile for our downstairs bath, and laundry room!!

For this house flip, we are obviously trying to save as much money as possible, while still satisfying our end vision. It has been fun to get creative about money saving ideas and ways to repurpose existing furniture and fixtures. For the bathroom vanity, we brainstormed all kinds of ideas and alternatives but in the end it made the most sense to keep the existing vanity, and replace the fronts of the cabinets, the countertops and sinks. We would not be happier with how it turned out, and if you want me to go more in depth on this process in another post, let me know and I can do that!

The concrete countertop & double sink combination was one we knew was going to be so cool if it turned out. If you’ve been following along for a while you might remember our concrete countertops we did on our rooftop patio two summers ago, or the concrete countertop we made for our previous laundry room. We’ve done them a few times, but this one was the trickiest because we didn’t pour the concrete in place. We (by we I mean Justin LOL) built an insane mould in the basement and had everything planned out, and then poured it upstairs in my studio and then carried it very carefully to the bathroom and set it in place. We really had no idea if it was going to turn out, and it’s pretty incredible that it did. Again, if you want a more in depth post about the concrete vanity, let me know and we can do that.

Our black mirror is from Ikea, it’s exactly what we wanted and was only 69.00. Our light fixture above the mirror is by Kichler Lighting and we are obsessed with it. It goes so perfectly with the feel of the bathroom and looks so good. Our shower fixtures, sink faucets, hanger hooks and toilet paper holder can all be found in the links below! Last but not least, we partnered withl Dreamline for our amazing shower door. It really just brings everything together. We chose the French Linea Toulon! It was by far the easiest thing to install, you just line up and screw in the two rails, and the door slides right in (with 2 people carrying it LOL) It is super easy to clean as the lines are not actually lifted! It gives the illusion that they are but they aren’t! I seriously LOVE this shower door and I’ve been pinning the exact one on Pinterest since before we even started flipping! Lol. It is perfect.
