I hope everyone had an awesome long weekend! I spend mine at the cottage and it was the only thing I wanted to be doing. We had some bonfires, some music and some great company. Love love love that place. Okay so I told you guys all about the wonderful accommodations we had in Quebec city, but I decided to split up the trip into a couple sections. The outfits, the hotel, some restaurant reviews (coming up) and this one, the trip overall!
So I have no idea why this was my first time in the most adorable little city that is Quebec, but it was. I've been to the province a million times, but never ventured in. Old port is the absolute photographer's dream. It's so european and poetic. I actually can't believe it's only a 6h drive from where we're based in Saint John. We really lucked out when it came to the weather, it was just after Quebec was hit with a ton of rain, but the few days we were there it was almost nothing but sun.
We ate a ton of amazing food, drank a ton of amazing coffee, and laughed the whole way the whole time. Poor Justin is still getting used to having every moment photographed. This has been my way of life since I could hold a heavy camera, (age 10?) So travelling with my Canon in my hand is completely natural and normal to me. Haha. I also prefer to be taking the photos, so he gets to be my subject. He's thrilled. But we really did laugh the entire time, from the car ride there to the car ride home, for some reason everything was funny. The hotel staff calling Justin,
Monsieur Beckwith
, to him having no idea what he's ordering at the french sushi restaurant. Hahah so good. Poor guy doesn't speak a word of french.
We did a lot of walking, I think I should really win an award for most hours hiked in heels. We both vowed not to do any hiking or nature things, but then ended up walking around alllllll day. Me, in heels. Surprisingly wasn't as bad as you'd think, but I was excited to change into some slides for dinner.
We're headed to Boston this weekend for Boston Calling and are super excited. I love Boston, the chill feel there really makes you feel at home. The buildings are beautiful and I love walking around the little neighbourhoods that are all so well kept with little flowerbeds in all the windows. It's pretty amazing that these gorgeous places are within a day of driving distance from us in New Brunswick. It's going to be such a fun summer. Eeeeeeee
